Lege Miami Says Viral Video of Tinubu Falling in Turkey Is Fake

Popular Nigerian actor and musician Adams Kehinde, widely known as Lege Miami, has reacted to a viral video that appeared to show President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stumbling during a state visit to Turkey. The entertainer dismissed the video and described it as fake.

The video began circulating on social media on Tuesday. It showed the Nigerian president briefly losing his footing while taking part in a ceremonial guard of honour organised in his welcome. Security officials were seen moving quickly toward him in the short clip.

Reacting through a post on Instagram, Lege Miami said the video was not real. According to him, the clip was created using artificial intelligence and shared by political opponents ahead of the 2027 general elections. He insisted that the president did not fall at any time during the visit.

Lege Miami, who is also known as a matchmaker and social media personality, said he would share another video that shows President Tinubu walking properly beside the Turkish president. He urged Nigerians to stop spreading what he called false information about the country’s leaders.

The actor is known to be a strong supporter of President Tinubu and has publicly defended him and his policies in the past. He is also believed to be close to Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, and often speaks in support of the administration online.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian presidency also addressed the incident but gave a different explanation. According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the president only missed his step briefly because of a poorly arranged carpet at the event venue. He said the president quickly regained balance and continued with his official duties without any problem.

The presidency further explained that President Tinubu went ahead with his scheduled bilateral meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Officials stressed that the president is in good health and that the moment did not disrupt his programme in any way. A press conference and other engagements reportedly continued as planned.
