2026 UTME: JAMB Holds Stakeholders Meeting to Ensure Seamless Registration
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has convened a strategic meeting with its service providers and critical stakeholders ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration exercise. The virtual session, hosted from the Board’s National Headquarters in Bwari, focused on ensuring a seamless, credible, and well-coordinated registration process.
Represented by the Director of the Registrar’s Office, Mr. Mufutau Bello, the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, thanked participants for their commitment and efficient service in previous years. He emphasized the importance of their roles in guaranteeing a smooth UTME exercise and urged stakeholders to provide maximum cooperation and improved service delivery.
The Director of Information Technology Services (ITS), Mrs. Funmilola B-Usman, explained that the meeting provided a platform for intense deliberations on the preparations for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry (DE) exercise. She called on telecommunications companies to ensure seamless network connectivity at all centres and stressed the need for full CCTV coverage. Mrs. B-Usman reminded participants of the “No Viewing, No Payment” policy, underlining the Board’s commitment to transparency and security.
IT Consultant Mr. Damilola Bamiro highlighted the technical aspects of the exercise, urging stakeholders to resolve issues related to bandwidth capacity, network optimization, and system security. He revealed that, for the first time, JAMB would run the registration platform entirely on a local server instead of foreign servers, marking the largest registration exercise ever conducted on the African continent.
Bamiro also cautioned participants to monitor their systems for potential security breaches, unauthorized router extensions, and suspicious software that could compromise the registration process.
Service providers assured JAMB of their readiness to deliver high-quality services, ensuring a smooth and efficient 2026 UTME registration for all candidates.
The meeting underscored JAMB’s commitment to conducting a transparent, credible, and technologically robust UTME, ensuring that all candidates across Nigeria have access to a seamless registration experience.
