Harrysong Hails Sheriff Oborevwori as Nigeria’s Best Governor
Nigerian singer and songwriter Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has described Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as “the best governor in Nigeria right now.”
Speaking as a guest on Nigerian TribuneTV’s Celebrity ChitChat on Monday, Harrysong commended the governor’s hands-on leadership style, noting how Oborevwori actively engages with his people and listens to their needs.
“Sherif Oborevwori is the best governor in the country right now. I’ve seen, I used to talk about politicians and how it is important for us to get someone that feels their people, connects with them and listens and is able to improve their states,” Harrysong said.
The singer added that his perspective changed when he was appointed Executive Assistant to the governor on entertainment. “Until I got into the system, I wasn’t seeing it from this light. If you come to Delta now, especially Wuridmen City, you will see that he is not working like a typical politician. He’s changing the narrative of politics and leadership.”
Harrysong highlighted several key infrastructure projects across Delta State, including new bridges, roads, stadium renovations, and other public works, praising the governor for completing these initiatives in less than four years.
He also pointed to Oborevwori’s commitment to youth empowerment, noting that Delta State has one of the highest numbers of young people appointed to government positions. “He’s trying to empower a lot of youth. In Delta State, he has the highest number of young people in government, encouraging them to get involved in politics and understand how the system works,” Harrysong said.
According to the singer, his involvement in the government has given him a clear understanding of how the governor creates systems to benefit citizens. “Come inside and see how we work to put together a system that can benefit the people. I can tell you for a fact, Sheriff is awesome,” he added.
Harrysong also revealed that the governor’s approach has helped him and other entertainers establish platforms for emerging artists and comedians. “It has helped me in many ways to create platforms for upcoming artists, people in comedy, and Delta entertainers. We are building something for the younger generation so they don’t face the hurdles we faced,” he explained.
He concluded by emphasizing the governor’s impact on nurturing talent and making opportunities more accessible for young people in Delta State. “We are trying to give the younger ones the platforms they need to succeed. Sheriff’s vision has made this process much easier,” Harrysong said.
