Oyebanji Congratulates Odusote on Appointment as Nigerian Law School DG
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Dr. Gbemisola Odusote on her historic appointment as the Director General of the Nigerian Law School by President Bola Tinubu.
The Ado Ekiti-born lawyer, scholar, and administrator is the first female to hold the prestigious position in the history of the Nigerian Law School. Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for selecting Odusote, describing her as highly deserving of the appointment.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, the governor said he had full confidence in Odusote’s ability to excel in her new role, noting her record of success in previous positions. He described her as “a distinguished scholar and a seasoned administrator with proven integrity and great accomplishments in academia.”
Governor Oyebanji urged Dr. Odusote to apply her wealth of experience and expertise to her new responsibilities, especially during this critical period for legal education in Nigeria. He encouraged her to continue demonstrating high levels of integrity, dedication, loyalty, courage, and excellence — virtues for which Ekitis are well known.
He further assured her of the full support of the Ekiti State Government and people. “Hearty congratulations to another daughter of the Land of Honour, Dr. Gbemisola Titilayo Odusote, on her elevation as Director General of the Nigerian Law School. The Government and good people of Ekiti State wish her success and God’s guidance in the new assignment,” the statement read.
Governor Oyebanji also commended President Tinubu, noting that Odusote’s appointment reflects his ability to select talented and competent professionals for strategic positions. He added that her elevation serves as further evidence of the President’s commitment to promoting capable hands in key roles across the nation.
Dr. Odusote’s appointment has already been celebrated by various groups, including the Nigerian Bar Association’s Women Forum, recognizing her as a trailblazer in the legal profession.
