Don Jazzy Betrayed Me – JJC Skillz Makes Shocking Allegations Against Music Industry Heavyweights

Veteran Nigerian rapper and record producer Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, has stirred conversation across the entertainment space after alleging betrayal by some of Nigeria’s most influential music figures, including Don Jazzy and D’banj.

Speaking during a recent interview on The Echo Room, JJC Skillz claimed that Don Jazzy, D’banj, alongside Ayo and DJ Abass, conspired against him at a critical point in his career. According to the producer, his relationship with them was built on trust and mutual understanding, especially as he sought to reconnect with Nigeria’s music industry after spending years abroad.

JJC Skillz explained that he became close to the group because of their knowledge of the Nigerian entertainment scene and their strong local connections. At the time, he said he needed guidance and introductions to the right people to establish himself professionally in Nigeria. He noted that they agreed to help him and later connected him to talent manager Bankulli.

Recounting the early days of their association, JJC Skillz claimed that Don Jazzy and D’banj were initially working under his guidance while they were still relatively unknown. He said he was surprised to later hear allegations—reportedly relayed to him by fellow rapper Ruggedman—that D’banj had accused him of cheating them during their time working together in the United Kingdom.

The producer described the accusations as painful and deeply misleading, stating that he had supported them extensively at the early stage of their careers. According to him, he provided accommodation, covered living expenses, and ensured they were well taken care of while taking them to performances and industry events.

Expressing his disbelief, JJC Skillz questioned how he could have cheated individuals who, according to him, had not yet started earning significant income at the time. He said the claims left him shocked and feeling betrayed, especially considering the role he believed he played in their early exposure and development.

As of the time of this report, Don Jazzy, D’banj, and the other individuals mentioned have not publicly responded to JJC Skillz’s allegations. The claims have since generated widespread reactions online, with fans and industry observers revisiting the early history of Nigeria’s modern music scene.

The interview has added another layer to long-standing discussions about trust, mentorship, and conflicts within the Nigerian music industry, once again highlighting how personal relationships can shape—or strain—creative partnerships.
