I Met Priscilla Ojo as a Normal Girl, Not a Celebrity – Juma Jux Reveals
Tanzanian music star Juma Jux has opened up about the early days of his love story with his Nigerian wife, Priscilla Ojo, revealing that he had no idea she was famous when they first met.
Speaking during a recent interview on Yanga FM Lagos, the singer shared that their first encounter happened in Rwanda, and it immediately caught his attention. According to Juma Jux, Priscilla stood out to him purely as a beautiful young woman, not as the daughter of a Nollywood actress or a public figure.
He explained that his attraction to her started physically but quickly grew into something deeper after they began talking. Jux said their conversations revealed Priscilla’s strong personality, intelligence, and calm nature, which made him realise she was someone special.
“I met Priscilla in Rwanda, and I didn’t know she was a celebrity at all. When I saw her, it was love at first sight. I just said to myself, ‘Wow, this girl is beautiful. I like her,’” he said.
The singer added that it was not until much later that he discovered her celebrity status. Even after several meetings, he still saw her as a regular person until he invited her to Zanzibar, where public attention and blog reports made him realise she was well-known.
“After our conversations, I knew she was the woman I wanted to marry. Even after seeing her many times, I still didn’t know she was a celebrity until I hosted her in Zanzibar and blogs started posting about us,” Jux revealed.
Juma Jux also shared that his marriage to Priscilla has had a positive effect on his music career. He noted that his connection to Nigeria through his wife has helped him gain more recognition and support from fans across Nigeria and West Africa.
The couple got married earlier in 2025 and later welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Rakeem, who was born in Canada on August 24, 2025. Since then, they have continued to attract admiration from fans who celebrate their love story across social media.
