Pastor Paul Adefarasin Says He’s Ready If Nigeria Faces War Amid Rising Insecurity
Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the founder of House on the Rock Church, has said he is personally prepared if Nigeria ever faces a full-scale war, even though he hopes the country never reaches that stage. His comments come amid escalating insecurity in various parts of the country, where violent attacks by bandits, terrorist groups, and kidnappers have left citizens in fear and questioning Nigeria’s readiness to defend itself in a worst-case scenario.
Speaking on the rising domestic security challenges, Adefarasin described Nigeria as a frontline in a larger global clash between civilizations. He warned that the country must remain vigilant, stressing the importance of both strategic preparation and proactive defense measures. “I certainly hope that Nigeria doesn’t have to go to war, but I’m ready for it,” he said, highlighting the need for awareness and readiness among citizens and leaders alike.
Adefarasin emphasized that while diplomacy and dialogue remain important tools, negotiations with terrorists are not advisable. He stated that eliminating terrorism permanently will require careful planning, intelligence-driven strategies, and decisive action. “It is going to take a lot of brain and negotiation, but I really don’t think you should negotiate with terrorists,” he added, signaling that firmness is crucial in addressing Nigeria’s security threats.
The pastor also reflected on the current situation, noting that repeated attacks by bandits and terrorist groups have caused deaths, abductions, and widespread panic. He stressed that these attacks highlight the urgent need for coordinated responses from security agencies, community leaders, and government authorities to protect civilians and restore peace in affected areas.
While remaining hopeful that ongoing dialogue and preventive measures may avert war, Adefarasin underlined that Nigeria must be ready to respond decisively if negotiations fail. He said the country’s involvement in global security tensions adds complexity to its internal challenges, making strategic planning essential for both defense and stability.
Pastor Adefarasin’s remarks have sparked discussions among Nigerians on social media and in public forums, as citizens consider the balance between peace initiatives and the need for strong security measures. His call for vigilance emphasizes that while peace is the ultimate goal, preparation for emergencies and threats is critical for national safety.
The pastor’s message encourages Nigerians to support efforts aimed at strengthening security while remaining informed and prepared, particularly in regions most affected by terrorist activities and armed banditry. His statement serves as a reminder that leadership, intelligence, and proactive planning are essential to protecting citizens and ensuring Nigeria’s long-term stability.
