Enyimba Issue Two-Game Ultimatum to Coach Stanley Eguma

Enyimba Football Club of Aba has given its Technical Adviser, Coach Stanley Eguma, a two-match ultimatum to improve the team’s performance or face possible action. The decision came after a string of poor results in the ongoing 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The directive was announced in a statement by the club’s management and released through its media officer, Samson Orji, on Monday in Aba. According to the statement, the ultimatum followed a management review after Enyimba’s 2-1 defeat to Plateau United on match day 10 at the new Jos Stadium.

The loss marked the team’s third consecutive defeat, following earlier losses to Warri Wolves in Aba and Kun Khalifat FC in Owerri. These setbacks have seen the nine-time NPFL champions drop to ninth place on the league table, tied on 13 points with Kwara United after ten matches.

In response, the club’s management instructed the technical crew to secure positive results in the next two games—against Kano Pillars in Aba this weekend and Abia Warriors in Umuahia. The outcome of these fixtures will determine Eguma’s future with the club.

The management emphasized that Enyimba has a proud history of success and expects performances that reflect the club’s ambition and legacy. While acknowledging the efforts of the technical crew so far, the management said the recent run of form was unacceptable and called for immediate improvement starting with the next home match.

“We expect an immediate response and improved performance beginning with Sunday’s home fixture against Kano Pillars,” the statement read.

The club reassured fans and stakeholders that steps are being taken to restore the team’s competitive spirit and deliver results worthy of Enyimba’s reputation.

As pressure mounts on Eguma and his technical crew, all eyes will be on the team’s next two matches to see if the People’s Elephant can turn their season around and regain their winning momentum.
