Tolani Baj Explains Why She Left Her 9 to 5 Job in the US to Return to Nigeria
Nigerian reality TV star Tolani Baj has revealed why she decided to quit her job in the United States and return home to Nigeria. The former Big Brother Naija star shared her story on Snapchat, opening up about her struggles with life abroad and why she felt happier living in Nigeria.
Tolani explained that working a regular 9 to 5 job in America was an experience she did not enjoy. She said she often counted down to December just to return home for the festive season, also known as “Detty December,” when many Nigerians abroad travel back to celebrate with family and friends. According to her, the constant thought of moving back to Nigeria never left her mind while working in the US.
In her post, she admitted that she found more peace and joy in Nigeria compared to living abroad. She wrote that she would sometimes question herself every day about whether she should just quit her job and finally move back home. For her, happiness was more important than staying abroad for work she did not enjoy.
Tolani Baj’s story is one that many Nigerians in the diaspora can relate to, as balancing life abroad with the desire to be closer to home often creates a tough decision. While working overseas can provide opportunities, her decision highlights that personal happiness and comfort sometimes matter more than financial stability.
In another development, fellow Big Brother Naija contestant Adekunle Olopade also shared his own thoughts about life inside the reality show. During a podcast interview, he explained that it was normal for housemates to see each other without clothes in the house. His comments came while reacting to debates surrounding viral intimate videos of housemates Koyin and Isabella, as well as Jason Jae and Sultana.
These revelations from both reality TV stars shed more light on how personal choices and experiences shape their lives beyond the spotlight. For Tolani Baj, returning home was about following her heart, while Adekunle’s comments show the unfiltered reality of living under the cameras in the Big Brother house.
Tolani’s experience is a reminder that success is not only measured by working abroad but also by choosing the path that brings happiness and peace of mind. Her story connects with many young Nigerians who weigh the pros and cons of living abroad versus returning home to chase their dreams
