Blessing CEO Defends Fiancé IVD After Airport Arrest Linked to 2022 Domestic Violence Case
Controversial relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has reacted strongly to the arrest of her fiancé, Ikechukwu Ogbonna (popularly called IVD), by the Lagos State Police Command. IVD, who is a well-known car dealer, was reportedly arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to fly to Qatar.
The arrest is believed to be linked to the 2022 domestic violence case involving the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, which has drawn nationwide attention. Blessing CEO took to social media to condemn the arrest, claiming that her fiancé is being unfairly targeted and emotionally intimidated.
According to her, IVD has been under heavy pressure and has been dealing with psychological trauma ever since the investigation began three years ago. She described the recent arrest as another attempt to bully and torment him, stating that she would not keep quiet anymore.
“They are bullying IVD, and it’s getting out of hand. IVD is innocent. I am not a coward. These people are using my man and I won’t tolerate this anymore,” she posted in a strongly worded message.
In another post, Blessing CEO questioned the legality of the arrest, stating that IVD’s passport had only just been reissued after being missing for two years. She added that there was no court order restricting him from travelling and that no formal case file or charge was presented at the time he was detained.
She further claimed that police authorities informed them that IVD would remain in custody until Monday, without giving any official reason or statement. Blessing CEO argued that this was merely a show of power and insisted that the repeated arrests are unfair and unnecessary.
As of the time of writing, the Lagos State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the incident. The high-profile case continues to generate public debate, with supporters and critics watching closely as the situation unfolds.
