Jim Iyke Says Modern Feminism Has Lost Its Way and Sparks Controversy Online

Popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has found himself in the middle of a heated online debate after calling modern feminism a “distorted movement” during a recent interview. Speaking on the Echo Room podcast, Iyke acknowledged the early purpose of feminism but said it has now strayed far from its roots and no longer promotes unity between men and women.

Iyke began by recognizing that the original feminist movement was important in fighting patriarchy and giving women a voice. However, he claimed that today’s version has become something else entirely. “I call it a crime, an assault of sorts,” he said, adding that what began as a fight for equality has now turned into something divisive.

He went further by suggesting that modern feminism might have been used as a marketing idea at first, possibly by women’s magazines, to attract more female readers. “They devised an ideology that allowed women to challenge the status quo and compete with men,” he said. But according to him, that ideology grew too large and turned into a cultural trend that now pushes the idea that women are better off without men.

Jim Iyke also criticized what he sees as double standards in modern feminism. He said the movement no longer promotes working together but instead fuels rivalry between genders. “You can only be in your natural, God-given role. Men stay in theirs, and when you come together, it blends and becomes one,” he added.

Online reactions have been mixed. While some people agreed with his views on gender roles and the shift in feminism, others saw his comments as outdated and dismissive of the ongoing challenges women face. Many critics pointed out that his statements ignore the continued need for equality in many parts of society.

Jim Iyke is well known for his bold opinions and blunt honesty, and this latest statement is no different. Whether praised or criticized, his comments have once again put him in the spotlight, stirring public debate about gender roles and the evolution of feminism.
