Yoruba Nollywood Actress Omotola Odunsi Passes Away

The Yoruba Nollywood industry is mourning the loss of one of its talented stars, Omotola Odunsi, whose death has left fans and colleagues heartbroken. The sad news was first shared by fellow actress Bakare Zainab, who took to social media to announce Omotola’s passing.

Bakare simply wrote, “Goodnight. Omotola rest well,” without sharing any details about the cause of death. Her message has since sparked a wave of grief and condolences from people across the film industry and beyond.

Another Nollywood figure, Ashabi, the mother of controversial singer Portable’s child, also expressed her sorrow. In an emotional post on Instagram, she shared how deeply Omotola’s passing had affected her and recalled the last time they spoke.

Ashabi said, “Omoh dis one shock me oooo aunty Tola. You’re one of the best actors I’m rooting for. Saw you earlier this year when I was shooting Deputy and we promised to feature each other in our next project, but now you laboured and didn’t wait to reap… Life sef.”

She also spoke about how Omotola used to give her hope through their chats and how many of her dreams had not yet come true. Her touching tribute ended with the words, “GOD, we can’t question you oooo. Death is deep.”

Omotola Odunsi was best known for her role in the movie “Lisabi”, where she starred alongside popular actor Lateef Adedimeji. Her performance and dedication to her craft had earned her a growing fanbase in the Yoruba Nollywood scene.

In another tragic news update, Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has reacted to the death of popular fish businessman Ifesinachi Onyekere, also known as Fish Magnet. He was reportedly attacked in his home in Ezinifite village, Anambra State, last Saturday.

Eyewitnesses say the attackers, driving an ash-colored Lexus SUV, shot him in the leg and forced him into his own navy blue Toyota Corolla. His shocking death has raised concerns about the level of security in the country.
