The United States Consulate in Lagos has expressed its readiness to invest in education and future development of Nigerian students.
The Public Affairs Officer at the consulate, Stephen Ebelli said this while donating books worth $24,000 to KolaDaisi University Ibadan on Wednesday.

“We want to invest in the people, we want to invest in education, we want to invest in development and we want to also invest in the future and we felt providing the books was the best approach to these.
“The facilities identified which books they wanted and we ordered them. These form about 80 per cent of the books we ordered at $24,000 (234 books), may of these books are very difficult to get in Nigeria. We were able to use our diplomatic resources and diplomatic permission to be able to bring those books into the country faster”.
The Vice Chancellor of KDU, Prof Adeniyi Olatubosun expressed gratitude to the US consulate and urged other institutions as well as government agencies in the country to emulate the consulate.
The representative of the students of the university, Boluwatife Aremu, promised that the books would be well utilized by students.
