ACF Visits Borno, Says Nothing Left For Northern Children
The Arewa Consultative Forum,(ACF) was in Borno on Sunday to condole with the state government over the recent killing of farmers in their farms by Boko Haram insurgents in Zabarmari community, Jere Local Government Area. The delegation, which was led by Chief Audu Ogbe, told Zulum that the security situation in northern Nigeria was depressing and added that the elite in the region had nothing to leave behind as legacies for the future generation. Ogbe explained that the situation had made the ACF to talk less and focus on some developmental efforts in small scale agro industries across the entire region. “We are depressed, very depressed. And anyone of our age, who was not depressed, he was not well born. We have nothing to leave behind for our children, and violence will not sustain us. The tragedy of the North today is that the only industry left is politics, and politics alone, has never grown any society. We have to regrow Borno State, we have to regrow the North,”Ogbe added.
On his part, the Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, said available records showed that security had greatly improve in the troubled state and North East sub region compared to what they experience in the previous regime despite the unfortunate incident of massacre of farmers in Zabarmari.
