NSCDC arrests Ondo driver for allegedly defiling minors
The Ondo State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Tuesday said it had arrested a 50 year old man, Audullahi Kamarudeen, for allegedly defiling 10 year old and eight year old school girls.
The suspect was alleged to have taken one of the girls to an uncompleted building at Adelabu Street, Danjuma area of Akure, where he allegedly committed the dastardly act last Sunday.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr. Eweka Edenabu, who spoke on the incident on Tuesday, said the command had commenced investigation into the incident.
He stated, “Further investigation revealed that the man sexually harassed an eight year old girl some weeks earlier.
“The two victims are with the NSCDC Anti-Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration Unit, which is currently liaising with the Ministry of Women Affairs for safe custody and protection of the victims”.
According to the NSCDC boss, the suspect, who is a driver by profession , used to come for relaxation in the same compound where the children lived, adding that the 10 year old girl had explained how Kamarudeen covered her mouth and nose while defiling her.
The NSCDC boss added that the suspect would be charged upon the completion of investigation.
