Second World War Explosive Devices Unearthed From Roma’s Pitch
Roma got stunned during the week following the discovery of World War II bomb devices somewhere at their training ground. Club officials immediately called on the Italian army bomb squad to help remove the devices which were buried in the turf during work to build new pitches at the complex.
According to Italian outlet Il Messagero via SunSport, the devices which were about 20 foot long were unearthed as the club tweeted with their official account with a picture showing soldiers removing the relics.
A club statement on Saturday said: “Well, this doesn’t happen every day. A big thank you to the Italian army and their bomb squad, after they safely and successfully removed a number of devices dating back to the Second World War from the club’s training centre at Trigoria this week!”
